Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 January 2026
Introduction
This website is a simple utility for creating and sharing randomly generated football teams. We take privacy seriously and aim to limit the collection of personal data as much as possible.
This policy explains what we collect, how it is used, and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR).
What information we collect
Information you provide
When using the site, you may enter player details such as names, ratings, and whether someone is marked as a goalkeeper. This information is entered voluntarily and used solely to generate teams.
We do not require account creation and we do not ask for email addresses or payment details.
Automatically collected information
We collect limited technical and usage information to keep the site running reliably and understand how it is used. This may include page views, interaction events (for example submitting a form), and basic device or browser information.
How we use your information
We use information to:
generate and display team selections
allow teamsheets to be shared via a unique link
improve performance, reliability, and usability
measure site and advertising performance (only with consent)
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for email marketing.
Analytics and advertising
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Analytics cookies and measurement are only enabled after you give consent. You can withdraw consent at any time via the cookie controls on the site.
Google AdSense
We display adverts using Google AdSense. AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, measure effectiveness, and (where enabled) personalise ads. Advertising cookies are only used where you have given consent.
If you do not consent to advertising cookies, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalised.
For more information on how Google uses data from sites using its services, see Google partner sites information.
Cookie preferences
You can change your cookie choices at any time. Essential cookies and similar storage are always enabled as they keep the site working. Analytics and advertising cookies are optional and only used with your consent.
Tip: if you previously rejected cookies, you can still open settings here and change your mind.
How data is stored
Teamsheet data
Generated teamsheets are stored so they can be viewed and shared. Teamsheets are accessed via a unique link and are not associated with user accounts. Anyone with the link can view the teamsheet.
Browser storage
We may store limited information in your browser (for example using session storage) to improve the experience. This data stays on your device and is typically cleared when you close your browser or tab.
Hosting and service providers
We use trusted service providers to host the site and store shared teamsheets. This includes Vercel (hosting) and Firebase (database and related services). We also use Google services for analytics and advertising (Google Analytics and Google AdSense), where enabled by your consent choices.
These providers act as processors and process data on our behalf, under contractual terms, only as needed to deliver their services.
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, appropriate safeguards are used to protect the data in line with UK data protection law.
Data retention
Teamsheet data is retained to allow continued access via shared links, unless it is deleted or removed as part of routine housekeeping. Analytics and advertising data is retained in line with the default settings of the relevant providers unless we change those settings.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, and to withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time.
Because we do not use user accounts, if you contact us about teamsheet data you may need to provide the relevant teamsheet link so we can locate it.
You can also review our cookie usage in our Cookie Policy.
Children's privacy
Shirts V Skins can be used by people of all ages, including children, for organising casual sports and games.
We do not knowingly collect personal information about children and do not require users to create accounts or provide contact details. Player names may be nicknames or first names and are used only to generate teams.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that personal information about a child has been included in a teamsheet and should be removed, please contact us with the relevant teamsheet link and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
